“Achievement happens when we pursue and attain what we want. Success comes when we are in clear pursuit of why we want it.” – Simon Sinek.
We all have ambitions, don’t we? We create an ideal view of what, where, how we would like to be. Imagine that ball of ambition thrown into a 90-minute match and the countdown to lifting your trophy of success begins. As in any competitive game, the playing field can become scuffed, with turf upturned and nothing like the pristine blades of grass seen by onlookers in the stands. We battle against the environment around us; poor weather, lack of time, limited resources, as well as conceding own goals as our motivation wavers and doubt seeps in. Yet, exhilaration pounds through our bodies and the supporting crowd cheer when we strike our achievements into the back of the net. Each rumble of applause spurs us on to score again, and while the opposition continue to reclaim possession, we look to those around us for support, advice and compassion. With this in mind, Pantev Football and Fitness Coaching has been founded on and frame worked towards success as the winning goal.
As a student of the game myself, with experience of playing football professionally in Bulgaria, my journey from pitch to the coaching bench has taught me a lot about the importance of resilience and digging my boots into the ground to find that equalising score when one nil down. Due to injury, I was forced to hang up my boots, but refused to allow the dust to settle. My first shot at goal to level the playing field was becoming a UEFA qualified coach; developing extensive experience in supporting both male and female players on their own football journey, from grassroots under 5s to first team players at an elite level. After 3 years of commitment and studying, despite a major counter strike in the form of the COVID-19 pandemic, a blinding shot in 2021 saw me retake the lead as I gained a first-class degree in Football Coaching and Management from UCFB Wembley. In a decisive effort to maintain possession, I continue to develop my understanding and experience within football coaching by completing courses including: tactical analysis, psychology for high performance sports, talent development & identification and nutrition for athletes, to name a few.
Of course, there comes a time in the match that we must step back and reform. It’s half time. For me, the running theme at any half time talk should be ‘why?’ Why do we play? Why do we not simply accept that the game is lost? Why do we continue to drive that ball of ambition up the field for yet another shot at goal? My ‘why’ stems from enjoyment of being out on the pitch. It is a pleasure and experience that I believe should be accessible for all who would like to engage. As a coach, I look to provide a pathway for individuals, specifically tailored to their development needs. By providing extra time in the lead up to the final whistle, and bringing knowledge and honesty to the session board, I strive to educate and inspire players in a safe, high-performance environment. Meanwhile, for those simply looking to retain or regain their ‘feel good’ fitness levels, I hope to provide motivation and enjoyment as we transfer the thrill of the game to an innovative work-out.
With the winning goal to play for and time left to strive for peak performance, success sits and waits patiently upon the podium. Through Pantev Football and Fitness Coaching, my aim is to help people in attaining the achievements that become building blocks to holding their trophy of success, and to be one of the many supporting shoulders on which they stand to raise that trophy even higher.
